Program Information:
The 30-Day Rest Challenge

Welcome to Day 0, and congratulations on taking a meaningful step toward better rest by signing up for this 30-Day Rest Challenge! Before we get into it, take a breathe.

We don’t have to start off with any practices just yet, but I thought you’d appreciate some context to help you get started on this journey to find sustainable ways for you to rest, fully.

Rest for all of you

Rest is more than sleep, rest can be practiced in many different ways to help you restore your body, mind and emotions. We often hear about the mind-body connection, but this often leaves out your emotional self. This challenge will apply a framework I very creatively call, Body-Mind-Emotions, and guide you through practices that will help you focus on restoring your body, mind or emotions.

You may find that some rest practices can be good for more than one of these parts of you, and that’s because these parts of self are connection and exist in relation to each other. But that could be for another day, I’m going to do my best to not get too “spiritual” or esoteric. I’ve included more context about this framework in the accompanying resources.

So how does this work?

For the next 30 days, you'll receive a daily email with one rest practice to try in your day - they are meant to doable for all levels. You're welcome to follow the daily prompt or adapt it to your own needs for the week's theme.

We aren’t aiming for perfection here, but it’s important to give each prompt a try.

The structure is clear and intentional:

Often I hear that my clients want to rest but just don’t know how. They need help with structuring this, which is exactly why I’ve put together this program and calendar. The challenge has 3 distinct phases that cover rest practices for a specific area of you, and then we will round it off with an integrated week:

Body Rest Week → Mind Rest Week→ Emotional Rest Week → Integration

It’s a designed framework to help you practice rest in a way that restores you, and also help you identify signs for when your body feels restored vs needs recovery, when your mind feels overwhelmed vs needs stimulation, and when your emotions need to be held vs released. While you may not master all of this in a month, you will definitely gain more understanding for what these mean to you, what you need more of and what you’re pretty good at!

A user manual just in case

You also have access to accompanying resources that give more context on the Body-Mind-Emotions framework and curated resources to help you notice patterns, insights, and shifts along the way.

Everything here is structured, meant to be doable. No previous mindfulness experience required. No perfection wanted! If something feels particularly challenging, it's OK. You're not the first to think it's hard - that's why it's called a challenge! ;)

The most important thing to do is show up each day for yourself and give it a try ✨

Background on my journey

If you’ve been to one of my seminars, you may recognize that we draw inspiration from The 7 Types of Rest framework (by Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith) and I will fold these into the 3 rest areas above.

If you’d like more context for how this guided rest program came to be, I’ve included a 25-minute talk I gave at Creative Mornings Stockholm. In it, I share my own journey of redefining rest and the inspiration behind this work. My framework is influenced in part by The 7 Types of Rest by Dr. Sandra Dalton-Smith in her book Sacred Rest.

You can watch it today — or sometime this week. Watch the talk below! :)

That’s it for now. I’ll see you same time, in your inbox, tomorrow!
